Hello and Welcome to Martial Way School of the KyokushinJutsu

Martial Way is the Japanese Kyokushin Budo Karate Do and Jiu Jitsu Martial Arts School of London, Ontario Canada.

Martial Way teaches the students the complete curriculum of Japanese Kyokushin Budo Karate Do, and Japanese

Jiu-Jitsu / Ju Jutsu principals with applied practical techniques.

The techniques from Kyokushin and Jiu jitsu are combined to practice real life, self-defense from stand up fighting concepts to ground maneuver and submission methods. We call this evolving integrated system KyokushinJutsu.

Our Dojo for many years has been affiliated with Kancho Kanamura 9th Dan. Sosai's senior and highest ranking Shihan before he passed in 1994. The instructors are trainedexaminedrankedcertifiedrecognized, and licensed by the highest authorities in Japan to teach, train, and evaluate students studying Japanese Kyokushin Karate and Japanese Jiu Jitsu / Ju Jutsu.

We provide our students with an undiluted, authentic Japanese Martial Arts experience with rates that are designed to be affordable for all individuals and families. Tuition is paid monthly, and there are no long-term contracts. Our Academy is different from going to a gym as we foster greater discipline. The strength students develop is not only physical, but mental.

Located in London, Ontario, Canada, we offer age appropriate classes with a strong emphasis on the core values of the martial arts: self-discipline, self-confidence and self-control.

What is KyokushinJutsu

International Budo Organization Kyokushinjutsu, an integrated and versatile self defense system developed by Shihan Chad Newhide, is the integration of Kyokushin Karate and Jiu Jitsu which creates a well-rounded martial artist with strong striking with strong emphasis on using an opponent's energy for a transitional-throwing by employing leverage, balance, and timing to redirect their momentum rather than meeting force with force close-range fighting to get them to the ground where ground grappling skills are applied. This leads to effective self-defense and a more complete understanding of fighting. This blend allows a practitioner to transition seamlessly between stand up striking and ground grappling, making them more versatile and adaptable in varied combat situations. The Concepts and Technique of the Ultimate Truth.

The KyokushinJutsu Advantage

  • Comprehensive Skill Set:
Kyokushin provides powerful and well balanced upper and lower striking and kicking techniques, stable stances, proper hip rotation, controled footwork, and the ability to withstand heavy blows in full-contact sparring. Jiu-Jitsu adds sophisticated grappling, including grabbing, throwing, ground maneuver, and joint locks, which complement Kyokushin's stand-up focused fighting skills.

  • Enhanced Self-Defense:
Adding Jiu-Jitsu to Kyokushin training makes a practitioner more effective in ground fighting scenarios, a frequent outcome of street fights or self-defense situations where a fight goes to the ground.

  • Versatility in Fighting:
A combined practitioner can use Kyokushin's striking to maintain distance or create openings, and then transition to grappling with Jiu-Jitsu techniques when the opponent closes the distance.

  • Adaptability:
A combined system allows for better adaptation to different ranges of combat, from stand-up striking to close-quarters fighting and ground engagement.

  • Increased Effectiveness:
This hybrid approach makes for a more effective fighter overall, as weaknesses in striking (Kyokushin) or grappling (Jiu-Jitsu) are addressed by the other discipline.

Practical Application

  • Transitioning to the Ground:
A Kyokushin practitioner can use a well-timed takedown, a key element of some old-school Kyokushin, to bring their opponent to the ground, where Jiu-Jitsu skills can be applied. A strong emphasis is placed on using an opponent's energy for a transitional-throwing by employing leverage, balance, and timing to redirect their momentum rather than meeting force with force close-range fighting to get them to the ground where ground grappling skills are applied.

  • Dealing with a Grounded Opponent:
The Jiu-Jitsu training would teach how to control and submit an opponent if they were to end up on the ground from a Kyokushin striking exchange.

  • Completing the Fight:
Ultimately, this combination allows for the seamless transition from stand-up exchanges to takedowns and ground submissions, creating a well-rounded fighting system that can handle most combat scenarios effectively. Welcome to
